Shortly after Sir Tim Barrow, the United Kingdom’s permanent representative – ambassador to the EU – in Brussels, hand-delivered the Article 50 letter from the UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, Donald Tusk responded.

The key message, apart from his personal sadness on the reality of Brexit, was that the remaining 27 member states of the European Union are determined to act in unity to gain the best deal for the EU, in the forthcoming negotiations.
